The shareholders and management of Christian & Denaburg, PC (C&D) represent approximately 100 years of combined accounting experience in all aspects of public accounting. The firm currently employs seven CPAs and one staff accountant , along with a bookkeeper and an administrative staff of three. C&D provides normal annual audit, review, compilation and/or tax services to its clients along with extensive consulting services. The firm has a concentration of clients in the real estate and construction industries and also frequently represents Trustees in Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases.
Steve Christian, a shareholder and President of C&D, graduated with honors from the University of Alabama in 1981 and was employed in the tax department of Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young) from 1981 through 1984, during which time he was involved with numerous publicly-traded companies and real estate transactions, including a number of national syndications. Since becoming a Partner in C&D in 1984, he has maintained a diverse client base while consulting for a growing number of real estate development and management clients doing business in virtually every segment of the real estate industry primarily in the Southeastern United States. Among his consulting clientele is a large regional bank that is an active investor in Section 42 (low income housing tax credit) properties. He has also been an instructor for a course offered by the AICPA on real estate taxation and is a member of the AICPA and the Alabama Society of CPAs.
Eddie Denaburg, a shareholder and Vice President of C&D, also graduated with honors from the University of Alabama in 1981 and was employed by Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in the audit department until 1985. While at Coopers, he gained experience auditing a variety of real estate, insurance and media concerns, among others. Since joining C&D as a shareholder and as Director of Auditing, he has also developed extensive bankruptcy, domestic relations, forensic accounting and consulting practices. He has been an instructor at bankruptcy seminars and is a member of the AICPA, Alabama Society of CPA's, American Bankruptcy Institute, Turnaround Management Association, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors and National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. He is a certified fraud examiner (CFE), is certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) and holds a CIRA designation (Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor).
C&D is a member firm in the PCPS, which administers the firm on firm Peer Review process under guidance from the AICPA. C&D has successfully passed all peer reviews since the implementation of this program, the most recent of which was completed in June, 2015.
